Luke Johnson (born March 18, 1994 in Leeds ) is a British tennis player from England .

Career

Johnson played only a few matches on the Junior Tour. After finishing school, he began studying at the University of Florida in 2012 , where he studied for a year and played college tennis . In 2013 he moved to Clemson University , where he graduated.

In 2017, he joined the regular professional tournament on the ITF Future Tour and was particularly successful in doubles. With three futures titles and several finals, he finished in doubles on rank 386 in the world rankings ; in the singles he was in 908th place. In 2018 he was able to reach three futures semifinals in singles and improved to 770th place by the end of the year. In doubles, he won four futures and took part in some Challengers for the first time . Here he climbed to 339th place. In 2019 he achieved results similar to the previous year and won five more futures in a double. The highlight of the season for Johnson was participation in the Grand Slam tournament at Wimbledon . At the side of Evan Hoyt they were defeated by the pairing Nicholas Monroe / Mischa Zverev in three sets.
