history
The village of Lunga was founded in 1824 on the estate of the count family Nako. Count Nako settled 138 Romanian families from Oltenia , so-called Bufänen , and 100 German families in order to secure the workforce on his estate .
Initially, the newly established settlement was called Konstanzia after Count Nako's daughter. The Hungarian administration changed the name to Kunszőllős in 1888 . After the Banat was divided into three on June 4, 1920 as a result of the Treaty of Trianon , the place fell to the Kingdom of Romania . Since then the official name has been Lunga .
