Lutz Moldt (born September 19, 1952 ) is a former German soccer player. In the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football , he played for 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig .

Athletic career

From 1963, Moldt went through all of the youth teams of the Leipzig soccer club 1. FC Lok or its predecessor, the soccer section of SC Leipzig . In 1971 he was with the junior league team of Lok GDR champion . As a young player, Moldt played six games with the U-21 national team of the GDR . At the same time, he was on the ball in 15 missions for the U-23 selection, with which Moldt was vice European champion in 1974 . In the first of the two finals against Hungary (3: 2, 0: 4) of the competition at that time , Moldt was called up in the starting lineup. The locomotive player was missing in the second leg.

In addition to his sporting activities, he completed an apprenticeship as an electrician. In addition to his nomination for the top division team of 1. FC Lok, Moldt also played in the mid-1970s for the second representation of Leipzig in the second-class league .

From the summer of 1972, the 1.79 meter tall midfielder was used in the league team of Leipzig and completed 23 out of 26 possible point games in his first season . Moldt made his debut on the first matchday of this season in the 1: 2 away defeat of the Saxons at FC Carl Zeiss Jena .

On May 1, 1973 Moldt experienced his first peak in the men's field. 1. Back in Leipzig, Moldt and his teammates won the GDR soccer cup for the second time on June 7, 1981 after a 4-1 victory - again over FC Vorwärts Frankfurt / Oder. With his goal in the 79th minute, he set the end of the final. He crowned his last season with 1. FC Lok on May 31, 1986 with the third cup win. In the 5-1 win over 1. FC Union Berlin , he, now almost 34 years old, was substituted in for another veteran, Wolfgang Altmann , in the 76th minute .

After 13 seasons, Moldt had played 246 league games as well as 42 FDGB cups and 37 European cup games for the team from Probstheida for the Leipzig team. He was also used in the mid-1970s in five games of the B national team and in 1983 in a qualifying game of the GDR's Olympic team.

In the summer of 1986, the long-time first division player moved from 1. FC Lok to TSG Chemie Markkleeberg in the second-class GDR league. There, the midfield strategist was one of the permanent players in the community of the sports field "An der Lauer", which has since been renamed TSG Markkleeberg. In his last season, 1989/90, the 36-year-old Moldt held the position of team captain.
