Lycoris hunanensis is a species of the Amaryllis family (Amaryllidaceae).

Lycoris hunanensis is a perennial herbaceous plant. The bulbs are almost spherical, 3 to 5 inches in diameter and 4 to 6 inches in height. Your epidermis is purple-brown. The 5 to 7 leaves are 36 to 39 × 1.3 to 1.5 centimeters in size, dark green, sword-shaped and their ends are pointed. The middle leaf vein is not noticeably lighter. The stem is 50 to 60 centimeters high and 10 millimeters in diameter. The 2 bracts are each 4 to 5 × 1.4 to 1.6 centimeters in size, lanceolate, light green, membranous and with a pointed end. Their orientation changes during the flowering period. There are 6 to 7 flowers per umbel . The flower tube is 1 to 1.2 centimeters in size. The inflorescence consists of 6 petals . These are 5 to 6 centimeters × 6 to 8 millimeters in size, upright in the bud and strongly bent back as they develop. Its edge is heavily wavy. In the bud , the petals are still pink, at the beginning of the flowering period they are light yellow and later turn white. The upper side of the leaf shows occasional pink stripes as well as bright red points at the tip, which gradually disappear until the flowering period. The middle vein on the underside of the petal is pale yellow. The flower stalk is 0.6 to 1 centimeter long. There are 6 stamens . The stamens are 8 to 9 inches long, white, and slightly purple at the tip. The scar is approximately spherical. The fruits are triple capsules. The seeds are black, almost spherical or hemispherical.

The leaves of the species appear in September. It blooms from late August to September and fruit from October to November.

Occurrence

Lycoris hunanensis is found in Yuanling , Hunan , China. The species grows in small areas on banks at altitudes of 200 to 350 meters.
