Lynn Deerfield

Lynn Deerfield , née Rosalind Jane Hirschfeld (born January 6, 1950 in St. Louis , Missouri , † November 11, 2011 in University City , Missouri) was an American actress .

Life

Deerfield was born Rosalind Jane Hirschfeld to Madelienne Moscowitz and the antique dealer Richard Hirschfeld. She was the youngest of four children. She still had two brothers and a sister. Deerfield made his first experiences in school theater. She played the lead role of Emily Webb in the play Our Little Town ; she also took part in other school theater performances. Deerfield was also, according to her family, a gifted pianist .

In 1967 she graduated from Ladue Horton Watkins High School in Ladue , Missouri. She then attended St. Louis Community College in the Florissant Valley for a year .

After graduating from college, Deerfield moved to New York City . There she completed an acting training at the Neighborhood Playhouse . Her fellow students included Meryl Streep and Diane Keaton .

In 1970 she was hired as the new leading actress for the US soap opera The Springfield Story . She played the role of Holly Norris Bauer until 1976. She played the second wife of the series characters Dr. Ed Bauer ( Mart Hulswit ) and Roger Thorpe ( Michael Zaslow ). She was on the main cast of the series. In the series, she married in 1973 in Las Vegas the series character Dr. Ed Bauer, who was drunk at the time of the marriage. Holly lied to Ed; she claimed the two of them consummated the marriage to forestall annulment.

In the mid-1980s, Deerfield returned to her hometown of St. Louis. Deerfield was married three times. Her first husband was the Wall Street - lawyer Paul Mates. In 1975 she married Bill Beutel , who later became the anchorman of ABC News . The marriage was later divorced. In her third marriage she was married to Michael Kelly (†).

Deerfield died at her University City, Missouri home, aged 61; no cause of death was disclosed.
