history

Mühlberg was mentioned in a document as early as 1232 and a Christian chapel in Mühlberg is documented in 1380 .

According to the stories of the Neustadt home chronicle, Heinrich Ascherl in his book about the parishes of Neustadt and Altenstadt, Mühlberg is said to have been a prehistoric court. The name Mühlberg does not come from the mill at the foot of the mountain, the Radschinmühle , but from Mul , which is derived from the Old Norse time for court.

Mühlberg was incorporated into the town of Neustadt an der Waldnaab on April 1, 1972 by decision of the government of the Upper Palatinate from January 30, 1972 at the request of its residents from the municipality of Altenstadt an der Waldnaab .
