Mühlhausen is a hamlet that belongs to the Rai-Breitenbach district of the city of Breuberg in the Odenwaldkreis in southern Hesse .

Geographical location

Mühlhausen is a hamlet without settlement character in the south of the urban area of ​​Breuberg in the deeply cut valley of the Breitenbach between the wooded heights of the Breitenbacher Kopf and the Dammberg in the west and the Obersberg in the east. The Mühlhäuser Hammer is located north of Mühlhausen and the Mühlhäuser Schlößchen ruins to the south .

history

The earliest surviving documentary mention as Mulnhusen points to the year 1382. In the Middle Ages and early modern times, the place belonged to the lordship of Breuberg . 1806 Mulhouse came with the centering maximum to the Grand Duchy of Hesse . In 1829 Mühlhausen had 36 inhabitants. On April 1, 1950, the previously independent community was incorporated into Rai-Breitenbach. Together with Rai-Breitenbach, Mühlhausen became part of the city of Neustadt in the run-up to the regional reform in Hesse on December 31, 1970 , which in turn became part of the city of Breuberg on October 1, 1971.
