history

Mühlhausen (formerly also: Millhausen) was mentioned for the first time on July 17, 1379 and has been a Hofmark since 1524 . Since regional court goods were also located there, it was considered an open Hofmark and therefore had to pay knight tax to the court in Straubing . A report states that in 1558 a Taferne, a Sedelhof and four other houses in Mühlhausen were subordinate to the regional court. In 1600 the place consisted of two courtyards, a bath, an inn, a Bachstatt and seven Sölden . In the surrounding villages there was a mill in Vogelsang as well as a farm, a Sölde and a smithy in Untersteinbach.

In 1626 the property of the Hofmark was examined more closely and it was found that even more possessions belonged to it. These were an orchard, four ponds (one without water), several woods on the mountain near Vogelsang, Stockhperg , on the Schennau , Steiberg and at the gate towards Puech (= Veitsbuch ). The total wood stock was estimated to be 200 daily work. Furthermore, a completely decayed and overgrown castle is said to have been on a hill at this time.

In 1808 the following localities, hamlets and wastelands belonged to the Mühlhausen district: Mühlhausen, Altendorf, Birket, Eck, Ginhart , Großlug, Hagenau , Hammelhof, Heinzleck, Hinflucht, Kehrmühl, Oberallmannsbach, Obersteinbach, Ottending , Pramersbuch, Pramwinkl, Rasch, Rauheck, Rumpelmühle, Susskofen , Unterallmannsbach, Untersteinbach, Vogelsang, Ziegelstadel.

Ten years later, the village of Mühlhausen, the small village of Ottending and the hamlet of Pramwinkl belonged to the political municipality of Mühlhausen. The Royal Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior made an application on November 30, 1876 to incorporate the localities of Ober- and Untersteinbach, Groß- and Kleinlug, Eck, Voglsang and Rasch into the municipality. However, the application was not granted due to the public interest.

The community existed until 1944, but was eventually divided. The two places Mühlhausen and Pramwinkl were subordinated to the municipal administration of Süsskofen and the place Ottending to the municipal administration of Rimbach . Three years later, however, the three localities were merged again in the municipality of Mühlhausen.

During the regional reform on July 1, 1972, when the communities were reclassified, Mühlhausen was separated from the Mallersdorf district and placed under the newly formed Dingolfing-Landau district. On May 1, 1978, the community of Mühlhausen was finally dissolved and incorporated into the community of Mengkofen. The last mayors of Mühlhausen were Anton Bergmann from Ottending (1st mayor) and Andreas Braun from Mühlhausen (2nd mayor).
