The Mühlsturzhörner are two peaks of the Reiter Alm in the Berchtesgaden Alps in the Berchtesgadener Land district in Upper Bavaria . The Great Mühlsturzhorn is 2234  m above sea level. NHN high and is located around 300 meters southeast of the Stadelhorn , not far from the border between Bavaria and Salzburg . The Kleine Mühlsturzhorn is located 280 meters east-northeast and has a height of 2141  m above sea level. NHN .

Rockslide

On September 8, 1999, 250,000 m³ of rock broke off in the summit area of ​​the Kleiner Mühlsturzhorn and fell into the Klausbachtal .

Alpinism

The unmarked normal route to the Großer Mühlsturzhorn leads from the northwest over the Mayrbergscharte and the Stadelhorn ( difficulty level II). Further unmarked climbs from the north over the Mühlsturzkar (II) and over the south face (II).

Well-known climbing tours are the Alte Südkante (difficulty VII-, first ascent by Huber and Mitterer in 1930) and the Direct Südkante (VI / A1 or VIII-, first climbed in 1936 by Anderl Hinterstoißer and Toni shortly before their death on the Eiger north face ).
