history

The first written mention of the village Missenowicz , which belonged to the Krásno rule, was made in 1374. In 1504, the rule had the Smradlák fish pond created. In 1505 the place was called Msscenowicz and Msstienowicz . The place name Mštěnovice is from 1517 and Msscženowicze from 1535 . In 1675 the name Msstienowitz was used and in 1720 the village was called Mczenowitz . The Smradlák was drained in 1820 and the pond area was used for agriculture. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained subservient to Krásno.

After the abolition of patrimonial Mczenowitz formed from 1850 a community in the district administration Valašské Meziříčí. Until 1860 an iron ore mine was operated in the “Na Mušině” corridor. At that time, there was also a quarry on the Na Čubkách hill. From 1872 the municipality carried the name Mčenovice , from 1881 to 1893 Mstenovice , then again Mčenovice . The current place name Mštěnovice was introduced in 1924. After the cancellation of the Okres Valašské Meziříčí, Mštěnovice was assigned to the Okres Vsetín in 1960. In 1976 it was incorporated into Lešná. In 1991 there were 116 inhabitants in Mštěnovice. In the 2001 census, 132 people lived in the 47 houses in the village.
