history

Archaeological finds show that the Krásno corridors have been inhabited since the Neolithic Age . A fire grave site of the Silesian-Platenitz section of the Lusatian culture from the period between 1200 and 750 BC was established on the Helštýn in 1893 . Found.

The first written mention of Crazna was in 1299 in connection with Bohuš de Crazna. It is certain that the village is much older, however. At the time of the great colonization under Nikolaus von Chorin , a large forest was defined in a border description, which stretched from Vrš von Meziříčís Gut to the Bobirs river. This Vrš probably also belonged to the family with the deer coat of arms, who had their possessions in the Rožnovská Bečva valley until the 1370s. The location on a trade route from Moravia to Hungary was advantageous for the development of the village. However, Crazna was also in the floodplain of Rožnovská Bečva, so that the town of Meziříčí was created on the opposite, higher bank in the 14th century. In 1348 the village was known as Crasna and in 1368 as Krasna . In 1377 the place is called Schonstatt (in the sense of Schönstadt). Since the middle of the 15th century, the village received several privileges. On April 4, 1465 Jan von Cimburg and Jičín Krasna gave the right of repatriation . In 1491 Krasna was elevated to a town. Johann von Pernstein , who in 1533 had bought the dominion of Rožnov including the town of Krasna for 14,000 shock Czech groschen from Johann and Jaroslav von Schellenberg, tried in the middle of the 16th century to unite the towns of Krasna and Meziříčí. In his licensing privilege of May 10, 1546 Krasna was listed as a suburb of Meziříčí. Thirty-eight houses in Krasna were allowed to run a beer and wine, and 60 in Meziříčí. In 1620 the town was called Krásná . The oldest seal dates from 1622; it showed a gate, flanked by two towers, and above it an upright double-tailed lion with a crown. The other owners included the von Zierotin and later the Kinsky counts . In 1849 the Michna weaving manufacture was established. Until the middle of the 19th century, Krasno always belonged to the Krasno-Rožnov estate.

After the abolition of patrimonial Krasno formed from 1850 a market town in the district administration Meziříčí. In 1859 the Tauber silk goods factory started production. Between 1854 and 1855 Eugen Graf Kinsky had a glass factory built, which he initially leased to the Reich glassmaker family and later sold to them. In 1863 the Schreibersche ceramics factory was established; it ceased production six years later and was converted into an alcohol distillery. In 1869 Krasno had 1992 inhabitants. In 1872 the place was called Krásna and in 1885 as Krásná . The Ulrich iron foundry and agricultural machinery factory was established in 1882. The railway line from Mährisch Weißkirchen to Krasna was inaugurated in 1884. After the Ulrich factory was closed, E. Thein acquired the building and built a hat factory. The hat factories in London and Janyšek were established in 1898 and 1921. The current place name Krásno nad Bečvou has been used since 1915. Further factories were built up until the 1920s. In 1924 the minor town Krásno nad Bečvou and the town of Meziříčí merged to form the town of Valašské Meziříčí . At that time the Krásno nad Bečvou glass factory, including the plants in Velké Karlovice , Nový Hrozenkov , Vsetín and other branches in Austria, employed 3800 people. The global economic crisis led to the demise of most of the factories. Only the glass factory, the three hat factories and the Křižanov box and wood wool factory founded in 1923 survived the crisis years. In 1950 Krásno nad Bečvou had 3725 inhabitants. After the cancellation of the Okres Valašské Meziříčí, Krásno nad Bečvou was assigned to the Okres Vsetín in 1960. The production of hats ceased in 1961. After the construction of new housing estates, the population grew to 10,711 in 1970. In the 1970s and 1980s, the historic townscape of Krásno nad Bečvou was destroyed for the expansion of the trunk road to Hranice and the creation of a road cross. The entire market with the exception of the town hall was demolished. In 1980 the district had 10,358 inhabitants. In 1991, 8,282 people lived in Krásno nad Bečvou. The 2001 census counted 7,953 residents and 594 houses.
