history

The first written mention of the village of Hrachovic belonging to the bishop's fiefdom Arnoltovice was in 1376. In some writings, Hrachovec was incorrectly equated with the village Grabowe listed in a document from Bishop Bruno von Schauenburg in 1297 , but Hrabová near Ostrava is meant. From 1397 the place was called Hrachowecz . After the Hussite Wars , the feudal relationship with the diocese expired and Hrachovec became part of the Rožnov rule . In 1516 the village consisted of 14 farms and the inheritance court. 1632 a bailiwick, ten farmers and two gardeners are designated for Hrachovec.

After the abolition of patrimonial Hrachovec / Hrachowetz formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Valašské Meziříčí. During the German occupation, the place was given the German name Erbsenried in 1939 . After the Okres Valašské Meziříčí was abolished, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Vsetín in 1960. On January 1, 1976 Hrachovec was incorporated into Valašské Meziříčí. In 1991 there were 811 people in Hrachovec. The 2001 census counted 900 residents and 234 houses.
