Podlesí is a district of the city of Valašské Meziříčí in the Czech Republic . It was created in 1960 when the municipalities of Brňov and Křivé merged. Podlesí is located three kilometers south of Valašské Meziříčí in the Okres Vsetín .

geography

Podlesí is located on the right side of the Vsetínská Bečva in the west of the Wsetin Mountains . The Vrchhůra (692 m) and the Zádrhlov (572 m) rise to the east and the Medůvka (608 m) in the southeast . To the west, the railway line from Valašské Meziříčí to Vsetín runs through the Vsetínská Bečva valley; the nearest train station is Brňov.

Neighboring towns are Valašské Meziříčí , Na Štěpánově and Vichury in the north, Veselá in the northeast, Malá Lhota in the east, Bystřička in the south, Jarcová in the west and Poličná in the northwest.

history

The first written mention of the village of Brunnow , named after the Olomouc bishop Bruno von Schauenburg , took place in 1297. The village of Krzywe was first mentioned in 1392.

After the abolition of patrimonial Brňov and Křivé formed from 1850 two separate communities in the district administration Valašské Meziříčí. After the Okres Valašské Meziříčí was abolished, both municipalities were assigned to the Okres Vsetín in 1960 and merged into a municipality Podlesí in the same year . On January 1, 1980, Podlesí was incorporated into Valašské Meziříčí. In 1991 there were 1890 people in Podlesí. The 2001 census counted 1946 inhabitants and 455 houses.

Podlesí consists of the villages Brňov ( Bernau ) and Křivé ( Kriwy ) as well as the settlements Brdky, Drážky, Forajtky, Holcov, Humenčiska, Kříky, Malé Korábky, Medůvka, Medvězí, Na Hromůvkách, Na Papratnémice, Na Potčněm Pod Kříkami, Podhájí, Polčiny, Poskla, Řehlov, Stráně, U Baraního, U Javora, V Tisůvce, Za Jezérkem, Za humny, Za Kopcem and Za Vrchhůry.
