    The Polaavtopat M5 is a North Macedonian semi- autobahn , which is to lead from the M4 near Podmolje on Lake Ohrid via Ohrid , Bitola , Prilep , Veles and Štip to the Bulgarian border near Delčevo .

    Expansion status

    Currently, only the section between Bitola and Prilep and the bypass from Štip are designed as a semi-freeway. The sections are equipped down to the junction Bitola-zapad about grade- crossings. Another section is under construction between Izvor and the M1 near Otovica as a bypass from Veles.

    Specialty

    Although the section between Prilep and Veles is marked on many maps as a national road and main connection, this section of the route is only an unpaved road. Instead, the national road 513 is used as the main connection between Prilep and Veles (via the M1). This section of the route is now being expanded into a full-fledged road.
