Macadade ( Makadade ) is an East Timorese Suco in the administrative office of Atauro ( municipality of Dili ).

The Suco is located in the southwest of the island of Atauro. To the north is the Suco Beloi , east of the Suco Maquili . Ponta Bi Sé forms the westernmost point of the island, in the south lies another cape, the Ponta Bere Harat . Before the 2015 territorial reform, Macadade had an area of ​​35.35 km². Now it is 38.36 km² after the borders to the neighboring sucos were redrawn. The place Maulako is now in Suco Maquili.

Three mountains are striking in Suco: the Foho Tutonairana , the Foho Berau and the Mano Côco ( Foho Manococo , Manucoco ), the highest point on the island at 999  m . The area around the Mano Côco is a nature reserve and an Important Bird Area .

In addition to the fields, there is mainly grassland with eucalyptus trees ( Eucalyptus alba ), arid and evergreen, tropical forests, especially on the mountains and in ravines. The trees in the tropical mountain forest at Mano Côco reach heights of 15 to 20 m.

The main town Anartuto ( Anartutu , Makadade , Makdadi ), in the northeast of Sucos, is the second largest town on the island of Atauro. A market is held here on Wednesdays, selling fish, goats, vegetables and chickens. There is also a primary school, a medical center and a helipad for emergencies. In the southeast on the coast lie the towns of Nameta and Berau . Berau has a preschool, a primary school, a medical center and a secondary school.

The four Aldeias Anartuto , Berau , Bite and Ili-Timur are located in the Suco .

Macadade has 1632 inhabitants (2015), of which 803 are men and 829 women. The population density is 42.5 inhabitants / km². There are 343 households in the Suco. Almost 97% of the population give Raklungu , a dialect of Wetars (also called Atauru ), as their mother tongue . This is generally spoken in the southwest of Atauros by the 1800 members of the local Adade tribe . Language centers are the villages of Anartuto and Manroni . More than 2% of the population speak Tetum Prasa as their mother tongue and a small minority speak Fataluku .

In the 2004/2005 elections , Lucas de Jesus A. was elected Chefe de Suco. In the 2009 elections , Carlito Soares Maia won .
