Machelberg is a district of the municipality of Weil in the Upper Bavarian district of Landsberg am Lech .

geography

The hamlet is located about half a kilometer southeast of the Schwabhausen district near Landsberg . The Allgäu Railway runs directly to the north .

history

Machelberg is mentioned for the first time as Mahaleihhi as early as 769 , the name can be interpreted as a place near the court oak .

The hamlet belonged to the Holy Spirit Hospital Landsberg, in 1761 two entire farms are mentioned.

After secularization , the hamlet became part of the newly formed community Schwabhausen bei Landsberg in the Landsberg district court in the course of the municipal edicts of 1818 .

With this, Machelberg was incorporated into Weil in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria on January 1, 1972.
