Maciej Kreczmer (born April 4, 1981 in Rajcza ) is a Polish cross-country skier .

Career

Kreczmer has been competing in the cross-country skiing world cup since 2000 , where he predominantly placed in the midfield. He ran his first World Cup race in December 2000 in Brusson , which he finished with 78th place in the sprint. In December 2002 he got his first World Cup points with the 21st place in the sprint in Cogne . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2003 in Val di Fiemme , he finished 61st place over 15 km classic and 36th place in the sprint. His best place to date in a World Cup race he achieved in February 2004 in Trondheim and in March 2007 in Stockholm with tenth place in the sprint. His best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf were 17th in the sprint and 13th in the team sprint. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Pragelato , he came in 33rd place in the sprint and seventh in the team sprint. His best placements at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2007 in Sapporo were 28th place in the sprint and fifth place together with Janusz Krężelok in the team sprint. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 he reached the 50th place in the sprint, the 40th place over 15 km classic and the 14th place in the team sprint. His best results at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver were 25th in the sprint and 12th in the team sprint. At the Tour de Ski 2010/11 he reached 31st place in the overall ranking. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Oslo in 2011 , he finished 55th over 15 km classic, 49th place in the sprint and 18th place in the team sprint. He finished the 2012/13 Tour de Ski in 51st place. His best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme were 32nd place in the sprint and 12th place in the team sprint. His best results at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi were 29th place over 15 km classic and 15th place in the relay and in the team sprint. In August 2014 he won the Merino pattern for the third time in a row over 42 km freestyle. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun , 37th place in the sprint and eighth place in the team sprint were his best results.
