Mad Dogs is an American thriller series . It is an expanded adaptation of the British series of the same name , which aired on the BBC from 2011 to 2013 . The pilot episode was published on January 15, 2015 via Amazon Video , the remaining nine episodes followed on January 22, 2016. The release of the dubbed version took place on March 4, 2016 via Amazon Video. Amazon Video and the producers negotiated a sequel in 2016, but could not agree on the content, so there will be no second season.

The series is about four US citizens in their forties who have been friends more or less since college days. During a vacation together at the invitation of another mutual friend named Milo to Belize , they are involved in a series of crimes through no fault of their own.

Joel is a family-stricken teacher. He's struggling with a weak psyche, which gets worse as the series progresses. He is good friends with Cobi's wife Helena and may even have an affair with her.

Lex is an unsuccessful musician who, unlike his friends, has his heart in the right place. In the course of his life he has toured with various rock bands and spent a lot of time on the streets. Lex was addicted to drugs and alcohol for a long time, but is now clean and dry. His only family member is his father, who has Alzheimer's disease, whom he contacts via a video message.

Gus studied law and worked as a lawyer for a while. However, when an investigation was initiated against the company he worked for, he lost his job. He has now started his own business as an antique dealer. In the course of the series you learn that he has a difficult relationship with his family, especially with his daughters.

Cobi is a financial advisor. One learns that he is married and that his wife is called Helena, but that he is not too specific about loyalty. He works for a company that deals with international financial transactions. He often does business that is on the verge of legality and is familiar with tax havens and letterbox companies. At the beginning of the series, it is learned that he would have had the opportunity to do business with Milo earlier.

Milo owns the villa on the beach in Belize. He invites his four college friends Joel, Lex, Gus and Cobi to join him. He is very wealthy and seems to have made his fortune through dubious business.
