Madina Ulfatovna Biktagirowa

Madina Ulfatowna Biktagirowa ( Russian Мадина Ульфатовна Биктагирова; English transcription Madina Biktagirova ; born September 20, 1964 in Osch , Kyrgyz SSR ) is a Russian long-distance runner who specializes in marathons .

In 1991 she won the premiere of the Berlin Half Marathon . In 1992 she won the Los Angeles Marathon . In the same year she came fourth in the marathon of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona , but was disqualified for doping (taking norephedrine ) and suspended for three months.

At the World Athletics Championships in 1993 in Stuttgart , she was fifth and the following year second in the New York City Marathon . In 1997 she won the Nagoya Marathon and came second in the Berlin Marathon in her personal best of 2:24:48 h.

At the European Athletics Championships in Budapest in 1998 she was second in the marathon behind Maria Manuela Machado (POR) and in front of Maura Viceconte (ITA) and fifth at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney .

In 2000 she won the 25 km from Berlin . In 2002 and 2003 she won the Nagano Marathon . In 2005 (fifth overall) and 2006 (eighth overall) she won the Masters (over 40 years) at the Boston Marathon . In both years she also won the Istanbul Marathon , where she improved the course record to 2:28:21 h on her second victory.
