Magaly Solier Romero (born June 11, 1986 in Huanta ) is a Peruvian actress and singer who is a member of the Quechua .

Life

Magaly Solier Romero was in the period of armed conflict in Peru in Huanta in the Peruvian region of Ayacucho born, but grew up in Palmayocc ( Quechua : Palmayuq ) in the province of Huanta on, a village of about 70 houses. She also spent her first school years in Palmayocc, but when she was ten she went to Lima to work as a housekeeper. However, she could not stand it there and returned to Palmayocc a few days later. She had to repeat a school year and then went to Huanta with her mother, where she graduated from school with the aim of becoming a police officer. When she was selling food on the main square of the regional capital Huamanga (Ayacucho) in 2006 to collect money for the graduation trip to Cusco , she was discovered by the director Claudia Llosa and cast in her first film Madeinusa . In 2008 she had a supporting role in the film Dioses .

Solier Romero plays the leading role as “Fausta” in the film Eine Perle Ewigkeit , which won the Golden Bear at the 2009 Berlinale . At the award ceremony, she sang in Chanka Quechua , her mother tongue, as a thank you .

In addition to her work as an actress, Magaly Solier is also active as a poet and singer. On March 12, 2009, Solier's first CD Warmi ("Woman") came out, on which she presents several of her own songs, the majority in Chanka Quechua . A second CD, Coca Quintucha , came out in 2015.

Private

On June 10, 2012, Magaly Solier married the cyclist Erick Plinio Mendoza Gómez from that city in Huamanga and gave birth to their first son in February 2013. In January 2015, Solier and Mendoza were ecclesiastically married in the main Catholic church in Huanta.
