Magic ( spelling MAGIC! ) Is a Canadian band from Toronto and Ontario that play a mix of pop , R&B and reggae .
Band history
The band is a project of the Canadian producer Nasri Atweh , who is known for his work with Justin Bieber , Pitbull , but also the No Angels , among others . Together with the songwriter Mark Pellizzer he wrote the song Rude in 2012 . Then he formed the band Magic! With himself as the singer, with Pellizzer as guitarist, Ben Spivak as bassist and Alex Tanas as drummer . together. They went on tour as the opening act for Matisyahu in 2013 and found a label with Sony Music in the same year, which Rude released as their debut single. They also produced their first album Don't Kill the Magic for the following year . The single was released in Australia and New Zealand at the end of 2013, where it was both number two in the charts. It was released in the USA at the end of April 2014 and worked its way up the US singles charts until it finally reached number one in July . The album debuted at number six in July. After that, the song was also released in Europe and came in at number one in Great Britain .
For the official FIFA album One Love, One Rhythm for the 2014 World Cup , Magic! the song This Is Our Time (Agora É A Nossa Hora) .
