Magyarszombatfa ( Slovene Soboška ves ) is a Hungarian municipality in the Körmend district in Vas County . The district of Gödörháza belongs to the municipality .
Geographical location
Magyarszombatfa is located one kilometer from the border with Slovenia , on the small river Szentgyörgyvölgyi-patak . Neighboring municipalities are Velemér, Bajánsenye and Kercaszomor. Prosenjakovci is two kilometers southwest of the Slovenian border .
history
The place has had its current name since 1907, before it was mentioned in writing as Zumbathfalva , Sombatfalva or Zombathfalva . Pottery has played an important role in the village for around 700 years .
