Körmend ( German : Kirment , older also Girmend ) is a Hungarian city in Vas County with 11,236 inhabitants (as of 2018) .
The place was mentioned in a document in 1238 as Curmend terra . Ladislaus Batthyány-Strattmann founded a hospital in Körmend after the First World War.
