The 98th Milan – Turin 2017 was an Italian road bike race that started in San Giuliano Milanese , near Milan and finished at the Sanctuary of Superga at the gates of Turin after 186 km . It took place on Thursday , October 5th, 2017 . It was also part of the UCI Europe Tour 2017 and classified in the 1st HC category.
The winner was the Colombian Rigoberto Urán from Cannondale Drapac , ten seconds ahead of Adam Yates from Great Britain from Orica-Scott .

The start took place in San Giuliano Milanese. The first 165 kilometers or so were flat. Then the pilgrimage church of Superga (616 meters above sea level / 4.5 km long / an average of 9.1 percent steep) had to be conquered for the first time, but you did not go quite up. This was followed by another round of 20 km with a subsequent goal at the pilgrimage church of Superga (669 m above sea level / 4.9 km long / an average of 9.1 percent steep).
Race course
Shortly after the start, four drivers pulled away from the field: Karl Patrick Lauk (Estonia / Astana), Grégory Rast (Switzerland / Trek), Guillaume Bonnafond (France / Cofidis) and Simone Andreetta (Italy / Bardiani). As a result, they were able to gain a lead of a maximum of six minutes. The outliers were all caught up on the first climb, Bonnafond as the last driver.
Julian Alaphilippe (France / Quick Step) was able to pull away on the last meters of the climb . He had a lead of a maximum of 30 seconds and was caught up again six kilometers from the finish. Rudy Molard (France / FDJ), Egan Bernal (Colombia / Androni), Fabio Aru (Italy / Astana), David Gaudu (France / FDJ), Rigoberto Urán (Colombia / Cannondale Drapac) and Mickaël Chérel (France ) were able to make the final ascent / AG2R). 2.6 kilometers from the finish, uranium attacked from a now three-man leading group with Gaudu and Cherel and was able to break away decisively. Behind them Adam Yates (Great Britain / Orica) drove up to the group around Aru and Gaudu, whom he left behind shortly afterwards to start the pursuit of uranium alone. Yates couldn't get close, so Uran won ten seconds ahead of Yates. Third was Thibaut Pinot (France / FDJ), who followed 20 seconds behind.
