The motor ship Mainau is a passenger ship that was used on Lake Constance from 1973 to 2006 .

The ship, built in 1973 in the Lux shipyard with hull number 51, was initially used by Xaver Unser from Meersburg on the route between Meersburg and the island of Mainau . In 1980 the German Federal Railroad took over the ship to use it as a replacement for the Sparrowhawks in regular service on the same route. In 1989 the Mainau was relocated to Lindau and used there for tours in the Bregenz Bay. From 1994 Mainau was owned by Bodensee-Schiffsbetriebe GmbH (BSB), which sold the ship to the Vanyolai Hajózázi Kft. In the Hungarian Balatonfüred in winter 2005/2006 . There it is traveling as Klára the Balaton . The Mainau in the previous port of Lindau was replaced by the Grand Duke Ludwig .
