The list of passenger ships on the Bodensee contains information on previously driven on the lake and in operation passenger ships .

The definitions of the type of construction are based on the designations mentioned in the literature, which are regularly placed in front of the ship names in short form as a prefix . The following forms can be designated: catamarans , smooth-deck steamers as steamers without superstructures, plus the counterparts saloon steamship or semi-saloon steamship as steamers with superstructures. As a screw steamer steam ships with back propeller drive called. The distinction between ship and boat is a special but common term in the terminology of the shipping authorities on Lake Constance. Here, watercraft with a capacity of up to 125 people are referred to as boats . Watercraft with a license for a larger number of passengers than ships .
