Maisí is a city and a municipality in the far east of Cuba and belongs to the Guantánamo province . The administrative seat of the municipality is not Maisí, but the larger town of La Máquina. The easternmost point of Cuba is located on the territory of the municipality - the "Punta de Maisí". In pre-colonial times the Taíno called this place "Baitiquiri". The Faro de Punta de Maisí lighthouse was built on this very spot from 1857 to 1862 .

The Municipio Maisí has ​​a total area of ​​523.31 km². It is surrounded in the north, east and south by the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean . The municipality of Baracoa forms the north-western, Imías the south-western border.

Maísí can be reached via a small road that joins the La Farola pass road in the north and south, and thus into the Carretera Central road . To the east of the city of Maisí is the small airport Aeropuerto Alfredo Noa Díaz .
