The Malý Šturec is a mountain pass in central Slovakia , on the border between the Great Fatra in the north and the Kremnick Mountains in the south. It is located between the mountains Holý Kopec ( 1055 m nm ) and Priečny vrch ( 1048 m nm ).
State road I / 14 (until around 2003 state road II / 557) runs over the pass and connects the regions of Pohronie (Grantal) and Turiec (Turz) . The pass is also crossed by the single-track Čremošné tunnel (4,697 m) on the Banská Bystrica – Dolná Štubňa railway line , which is considered to be the longest railway tunnel in Slovakia.
The Path of the Heroes of the Slovak National Uprising , part of the E8 long-distance hiking trail, runs over the pass . There is a small parking lot at the top of the pass.
