Čremošné (until 1927 in Slovak "Čriemošno" or "Čeremošné", in Hungarian Turócmeggyes - until 1907 Csremosnó ) is a municipality in the north-center of Slovakia , with 82 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located in Okres Turčianske Teplice , which in turn belongs to the Žilinský kraj district.
geography
The village in the traditional Turz landscape is located on the south-western slope of the Great Fatra near the connection with the Kremnica Mountains , by the Smolický creek . The center of the village is at an altitude of 650 m. Čremošné is 4 kilometers from Turčianske Teplice and 30 kilometers from Martin .
The Čremošné tunnel , the longest railway tunnel in Slovakia, is located near Čremošné .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1340. At first it was owned by various noble families and from 1520–1848 it was owned by the city of Kremnitz .
