Ivančiná (Hungarian Ivánkafalva - until 1907 Ivánkófalu ) is a municipality in the north-center of Slovakia with 80 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located in the Okres Turčianske Teplice , part of the Žilinský kraj and is part of the traditional Turiec landscape .
geography
The community is located in the south-western part of the Turiec basin . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 455 m nm and is eight kilometers from Turčianske Teplice and 22 kilometers from Martin .
Dvorec, which was incorporated in 1991, also belongs to the municipality.
Neighboring municipalities are Jazernica in the north, Bodorová in the east, Malý Čepčín in the southeast, Veľký Čepčín in the south, Slovenské Pravno in the west and Abramová in the northwest.
history
There was a Slavic settlement in the area of Ivančiná during the Moravian Empire .
Today's place was built on a piece of land by the Konotopa brook , which Namslav and his four sons (Ivan, Thomas, Bartholomäus and Nikolaus) received in 1248 , and was first mentioned in writing in 1423 as Iwankafalua . In 1430 the village was owned by the Boda family , later the Thurzo , Nyáry families and others. In 1785 the village had 31 houses and 196 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 36 houses and 284 inhabitants who were employed as farmers.
The place in Turz County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. In the first Czechoslovak Republic, too, agriculture remained the main source of income for the population.

According to the 2011 census, there were 94 inhabitants in Ivančiná, including 83 Slovaks and one Moravian . 11 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
35 residents committed themselves to the Evangelical Church AB, 30 residents to the Roman Catholic Church and one resident to the Czechoslovak Hussite Church. 12 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 16 residents was not determined.
