Bodorová (Hungarian Bodorfalva - until 1907 Bodorfalu ) is a municipality in the north-center of Slovakia with 234 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located in the Okres Turčianske Teplice , part of the Žilinský kraj and is part of the traditional Turiec landscape .
geography
The community is located in the southern part of the torrent basin on the Dolinka brook . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 464 m nm and is five kilometers from Turčianske Teplice and 21 kilometers from Martin .
Paraštiná , which was incorporated in the 19th century, and Kevice , which was incorporated in 1951, also belong to the municipality . The latter is still an official cadastral community.
Neighboring municipalities are Borcová in the north, Mošovce in the east, Turčianske Teplice ( Turčiansky Michal district ) in the south, Malý Čepčín and Ivančiná in the west and Jazernica in the northwest.
history
Bodorová was first mentioned in writing in 1265 as Vida and was owned by the Vida family until the 15th century , later it came to the Thurzo family and in the 16th family the Nyáry family . The current name is first recorded in 1534 as Bodarfalwa and bears the name of a certain Peter de Boda . In 1720 there were 11 houses in the village. In 1785 the village had 16 houses and 132 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 18 houses and 128 inhabitants who were employed as craftsmen (in particular furriers) and farmers.
The place in Turz County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Bodorová had a population of 244, of whom 222 were Slovaks , two Czechs and one German and one Pole . 18 residents did not provide any information on ethnicity .
95 residents professed to the Roman Catholic Church and 87 residents to the Evangelical Church. AB 35 residents were non-denominational and the denomination of 27 residents was not determined.
