Rakša (Hungarian Kisraksa - until 1907 Raksa ) is a municipality in Okres Turčianske Teplice in Slovakia with 221 inhabitants (2007) and is located at an altitude of about 542 meters above sea level in Žilinský kraj in central Slovakia .
The main source of income for the village is agriculture and forestry, such as mining . The earliest written mention of the name Roxa comes from the year 1277. Other names are 1280 Raxa , Hungarian Kisraksa and from 1920 officially Rakša. In 1503 the village had two districts called Vyšna (upper) and Nižna (lower) Rakša. In 1933 the neighboring town of Nedozor to the south was incorporated.
In 1811 the poet, reformer and linguist Michal Miloslav Hodža was born in the village.
