Blažovce (until 1960 Slovak "Blážovce"; Hungarian Turócbalázsfalva - until 1907 Balázsfalu ) is a municipality in the north-center of Slovakia with 165 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located in the Okres Turčianske Teplice , part of the Žilinský kraj and is part of the traditional Turiec landscape .
geography
The village is located in the middle of the torrent on the right bank of the Turiec at the confluence with the Čierna voda brook . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 452 m nm and is 10 kilometers from Turčianske Teplice and 18 kilometers from Martin .
Neighboring municipalities are Turčiansky Ďur in the north, Socovce in the northeast, Mošovce in the east, Jazernica in the south, Abramová in the southwest and Moškovec in the west.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1343 as Mezeuhaz and was owned by the landed gentry. In 1785 the village had 15 houses and 94 inhabitants, in 1828 there were 17 houses and 114 inhabitants who were employed as farmers.
The formerly independent municipality Bodovice (incorporated in 1952, had the town of Vachotovice , which was incorporated after 1863 ) also belongs to the municipality , but is no longer part of the municipality today.
The place in Turz County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 163 residents in Blažovce, including 161 Slovaks and two Czechs .
63 residents committed to the Roman Catholic Church, 57 residents to the Evangelical Church AB and three residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church. 21 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 19 residents was not determined.
