Moškovec (German Moschendorf , Hungarian Moskóc ) is a municipality in the north-center of Slovakia with 65 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019). It is located in the Okres Turčianske Teplice , part of the Žilinský kraj and is part of the traditional Turiec landscape .
geography
The village is located in the middle of the torrent on the left bank of the Turiec at the confluence with the Vedžer . The center of the village lies at an altitude of 448 m nm and is 10 kilometers from Turčianske Teplice and 16 kilometers from Martin .
Neighboring municipalities are Slovany in the north, Turčiansky Ďur in the northeast, Blažovce in the east and south, Abramová in the southwest and Ondrašová in the west.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1391 as Mossovech and belonged to the territory of the Zniev Castle , in the 18th century the Chamber. In 1715 there were nine households in the village, in 1785 the village had 16 houses and 122 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and also known as oil pressers and saffron processors .
The place in Turz County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary until 1918 and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.
population
According to the 2011 census, there were 62 inhabitants in Moškovec, 59 of them Slovaks . Three residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity .
30 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church and 18 residents supported the Evangelical Church AB, and one inhabitant supported the Orthodox Church. Nine residents were non-denominational and the denomination was not determined for five residents.
Buildings
- Country estate with a farm from the 19th century
- Car shed from 1798, which stood on the old post route from Neutra to Košice . A copy can be seen in the Museum of the Slovak Village in Martin.

Moškovec is on the 2nd order road 519 between Nitrianske Pravno and Príbovce and thus on the road between Prievidza and Martin.
