Malemort-sur-Corrèze is a village and a commune déléguée in the French commune of Malemort with 7,476 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Corrèze department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region . The residents call themselves Malemortois .

With effect from January 1, 2016, the former municipalities of Malemort-sur-Corrèze and Venarsal were merged and have since formed the Commune nouvelle Malemort . The municipality of Malemort-sur-Corrèze belonged to the arrondissement of Brive-la-Gaillarde and the canton of Malemort-sur-Corrèze .

The Commune déléguée is located in the metropolitan area east of Brive-la-Gaillarde .

The area lies on both sides of the Corrèze River . This takes the Couze from the north in the district of Puymaret , and the Loyre and Pian brooks from the south on the western border .

Transport links

The most important road connection is the departmental road D2089, which leads from Brief-la-Gaillarde to Malemort-sur Corrèze and here joins the D1089, which forms a bypass to the A20 motorway to the northwest and follows the Corrèze valley up to the east. A railway line runs in this direction from Brive-la-Gaillarde towards Tulle .
