Icarus Elicotteri is an Italian airline based in Villa San Giovanni .
history
Icarus Elicotteri was founded in 1986 as a pure helicopter company under the name Icarus Sca rl and first operated air taxi flights. From 1990, Icarus flew fire-fighting flights , RTH missions and load transports on behalf of the fire brigade . In 1994 passenger traffic began. In 1996, the partnership was established with the TV broadcaster RAI with aerial film recordings for sporting events with live transmission such as the Giro d'Italia and the Italian Grand Prix . Icarus helicopters have been used in public service as air rescue helicopters since 1998 . The fleet increased to six helicopters with one engine. In 2007 Icarus already had twelve helicopters in use. Since 2008 it has been active in Africa with its own branch.
Services
Icarus Elicotteri operates alongside air taxi services and rescue and aerial work. It also operates three of its own heliports and carries out helicopter maintenance.
