Ernest Airlines is an Italian low-cost airline based in Milan and based at Milan Malpensa Airport . The airline ceased operations after a license revocation by the Italian aviation authority in January 2020.

history

The company was founded in 2016 under the name Fly Ernest as a virtual airline to establish connections from Italy to Albania . Initially, the company worked with Mistral Air , which operated the flights.

On April 11, 2017, the company received an Air Operator Certificate and at the same time changed its name to Ernest Airlines . At the same time, an Airbus A319 was the first aircraft to be leased.

At the end of 2019, it was announced that the Italian air traffic control authority would initially withdraw the airline's license on January 13, 2020.
