Poste Air Cargo Srl is an Italian cargo airline based in Rome and based at Rome Fiumicino Airport . The company is a subsidiary of Poste Italiane .
history
Poste Air Cargo was founded in 1981 as Mistral Air by the Italian actor and former swimmer Carlo Pedersoli known as Bud Spencer , and began operating in 1984. The actor sold the airline to the Dutch logistics company TNT . In March 2002, Poste Italiane acquired 75 percent of the airline, and in 2005 the remaining 25 percent was taken over.
In 2017 there was a loss of 7.4 million euros, the company was no longer profitable in the years before. Because the company lost an order from the government for flights between Catania - Pantelleria and Lampedusa, Catania - Lampedusa and Trapani - Pantelleria at the end of June 2018, there will be no more charter flights for passengers in the future . In the future, the focus will only be on cargo flights .
In October 2019, Mistral Air was renamed Poste Air Cargo.
Destinations
Since the discontinuation of passenger flights, Poste Air Cargo has been operating cargo flights mainly at night for the Italian Post and Amazon, among others .
