Ampelographic varietal characteristics

In ampelography , the habitus is described as follows:

  • The shoot tip is open. It is hairy like a cobweb, with a slight pink tinge. The light green young leaves are hairless.
  • The medium-sized leaves are five-lobed and deeply indented (see also the article leaf shape ). The stem bay is open in a U-shape. The blade is serrated. The teeth are medium-sized compared to the grape varieties.
  • The cylindrical to conical grapes are usually shouldered, large and quite loose. The rounded to slightly elliptical berries are medium-sized and dark-bluish-black in color. The grapes have a light nutmeg aroma.

The grape variety ripens about 40 days after the Gutedel and thus belongs to the grape varieties of the middle fourth ripening period (see the chapter in the article grape variety). It is therefore considered to ripen very late. The vigorous variety is high-yielding. Malvasia di Casorzo is a variety of the noble grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ).
