Manfred Hebenstreit

Manfred Hebenstreit (* 1957 in Altheim ) is an Austrian painter and graphic artist .

Hebenstreit first completed an apprenticeship as a precision mechanic and completed it with a journeyman's examination. After completing community service , she traveled to Asia and Australia.

From 1979 to 1984 he studied painting and graphics at the University of Artistic and Industrial Design in Linz . With the help of a scholarship from the Bischoff Gallery, he stayed in 1990 in San José , California , USA .

He has lived and worked in Peuerbach since 1995 , where he set up his studio in the converted indoor pool. Between 1998 and 2000 he went on several painting trips and study visits and carried out some art-in-building commissions . From 2000 he learned glass painting and developed his own technique.

As part of the Upper Austrian State Exhibition in Peuerbach in 2010, he and his wife Billa created an 18-meter-high walk-in sculpture with the Kometor and designed the park of Schloss Peuerbach .

In August 2013 he taught at the Traunkirchen Summer Academy . The artist is a member of the MAERZ artists' association .

He has had his residence and studio in Haargassen since 2013.

Hebenstreit's works can be found in the art collection of Upper Austria, in the Angerlehner Museum in Thalheim near Wels , in the Artemons in Hellmonsödt , in the Museum Mumok (Museum Ludwig Vienna), Museum Würth (Germany), State Russian Museum (St. Petersburg), Lentos ( Linz), Museum Passau (Germany), Museum Villa Haiss (Germany), STRABAG (Austria), Deutsche Bank (Luxembourg), and many private collections.
