Manfred Schmidt (born June 27, 1928 in Berlin ) is a German opera , operetta , concert and radio singer with a tenor voice .

Manfred Schmidt studied from 1951 with Jean Nadolovitch and Herbert Brauer . From 1954 he was supported by the singer and singing teacher Tiana Lemnitz and the conductor Erich Kleiber , who used him in several operas in the Berlin State Opera 's junior studio. In 1956 he became a concert and radio singer and made his stage debut at the Bielefeld Opera House , of which he was a member until 1961.
