Marcel Ewen (born May 12, 1982 ) is a Luxembourgish show jumper.

Career

The national pony rider championship aroused Ewen's sporting ambition.

At 16 he moved to Sedan in France and trained in Hervé Francart's professional stable . Only a short time later he won his first difficult jumping and rode in international tournaments. This was followed by a stay of several months in the stables of the Brazilian equestrian legend Nelson Pessoa . He then trained for one winter with the French world class rider Roger-Yves Bost .

Ewen has been a sports soldier in the Luxembourg Army since 2006 and a member of the COSL elite squad since 2008. In 2007 he was runner- up at the military championship in Fontainebleau and won the silver medal with his sister Ketti Ewen and Sarah Pétré . Ewen is a multiple winner of the Coupe de Luxembourg .

In May 2011 he rode third place with Orgueil Fontaine in the traditional German Jumping Derby in Hamburg - Klein Flottbek . The placement, probably one of the most sensational results in Luxembourg equestrian sport in recent decades, also earned him 15 points in the Riders Tour .

Three years later, Marcel Ewen and Orgoueil Fontaine were part of the first Luxembourg Nations Cup team in its 20 years, which surprisingly won the Slovenian Nations Cup at the CSIO 3 * Celje. Also in 2016 he was part of Luxembourg Nations Cup teams with Orgueil Fontaine (7th place at CSIO 4 * Linz and 4th place at CSIO 3 * -W Celje ), and he also won the Poznan World Cup with Excenel V (CSI 3 * - W).
