Marco Rossi (born September 23, 2001 in Feldkirch ) is an Austrian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Ottawa 67’s in the Ontario Hockey League since August 2018 .
Career
Rossi started his career at VEU Feldkirch and moved to Switzerland at the age of 13 to join the ZSC Lions youth team . In 2018 he moved to Canada to the Ottawa 67’s , who play in the Ontario Hockey League .
Rossi is available for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft and is considered the most promising Austrian talent since Thomas Vanek . At the end of the canceled regular season of the 2019/20 season , he was the first European player to receive the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy , as well as the Red Tilson Trophy a little later .
International
With the Austrian offspring, Rossi has so far participated in the U18 World Cup 2017 , when he was named the top scorer and third-best scorer after the Slovenian Jan Drozg and the Italian Stephan Deluca , as well as at the U20 World Cup 2018 , as he was together with the German Charlie Jahnke and the Latvian Emīls Ģēģeris third-best scorer behind the two Kazakhs Artur Gatijatow and Nikita Nasarenko , each in Division I part.
