Marcus Pfeiffer

Marcus Pfeiffer (* 1981 in Ebersberg , Upper Bavaria ) is a German screenwriter .

Life

Marcus Pfeiffer grew up with a younger sister in Upper Bavaria . In his youth he played football at TSV 1860 Munich , as well as in the German national youth team. In 2000 he won a sponsorship award from the German Youth Film Award with his satirical show Die Junge Wochenshow .

After graduating from high school , he studied communication science at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . He then worked as a copywriter for the advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather in Frankfurt , where he won a lion at the Cannes Lions Festival as a junior copywriter for an Ikea Facebook app . Most recently he was Creative Director at Jung von Matt in Hamburg .

In total, in his career as a copywriter, he has won over 50 national and international creative awards, including two Cannes Lions and a Grand Prix of the New York Festivals.

In 2019, as a scholarship holder of the DrehbuchWerkstatt München ( HFF München ), he won the Tankred Dorst Prize for the best screenplay at the Munich Film Festival with his script “Beckenrand Sheriff” . This script was funded by FilmFernsehFond Bayern and the Filmförderungsanstalt and filmed as a comedy for the cinema in 2020 by director Marcus H. Rosenmüller .

He currently lives in Munich with his wife Ariane Pfeiffer .
