Marcus Scribner (born January 7, 2000 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor and voice actor , who is best known for his role as Andre Johnson, Jr. in the ABC series Black-ish .

life and career

Marcus Scribner was born on January 7th, 2000 in the fourth generation in Los Angeles, US state. He was born in Cedars-Sinai , where his mother was born. His father Troy, whose father was in turn fascinated by Greek and Roman antiquity and mythology, also gave him a name from this time. His younger sister was named Athena. Marcus Scribner began his acting career when he was booked for a role in the ABC crime series, in which he appeared in an episode in 2010. In the German-language dubbed version of this episode, he was lent the voice of Eric Stefanov . In his childhood he began to play lacrosse on a club basis and to learn various musical instruments ( clarinet and guitar ). After starring in one episode each of New Girl , Wedding Band and Wendell & Vinnie in 2012 and 2013 , he was soon cast in the role of Andre Johnson, Jr. in the ABC series Black-ish . The high school student has since been seen in one of the leading roles in the series and plays the son of Andre "Dre" Johnson, Sr (played by Anthony Anderson ) and Dr. Rainbow "Bow" Johnson (played by Tracee Ellis Ross ). For his performance in the series he was nominated at the Image Awards 2015 for an NAACP Image Award in the category "Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series", but could not prevail in this category against veteran Laurence Fishburne , who won the award also for his engagement in Black-ish .

After taking on the speaking role of Buck in the original English version of Arlo & Spot in 2015 , which was spoken by Sebastian Kluckert in the German version , he received numerous other nominations in 2016. At the Young Artist Awards 2016 he was nominated for a Young Artist Award in the category “Best Dubbing Actor in a Voice-Over Role (12 to 21 Years)” for his engagement in Arlo & Spot ; Other nominations at this award were in the category "Best Actor in a TV Series (14 to 21 Years)" and in the Category "Outstanding Cast in a TV Series" (both also for Black-ish ), in the latter together with Yara Shahidi , Miles Brown and Marsai Martin was nominated. Here, however, he could not prevail in any category, but received at the presentation of the Image Awards 2016 a NAACP Image Award in the category "Outstanding Performance by a Youth (Series, Special, Television Movie or Mini-series)" for his performances in the Comedy series about an upper-middle class African American family. Furthermore, Scribner has been a regular guest at various other award ceremonies and talk shows since 2014, for example at The Real , Jimmy Kimmel Live! or Good Morning America . After graduating from high school, Marcus Scribner is aiming for a career at one of the Pac-12 universities.
