Margaret Coomber

Margaret Coomber ( Margaret Teresa Coomber, née MacSherry, second marriage to Baldwin; born June 13, 1950 in Dartford ) a former British middle- distance runner , long-distance runner and sprinter .

In 1970 she was starting seventh over 1500 m for Scotland at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh .

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, she was eliminated over 800 m in the preliminary run.

The following year she came in for Scotland starting at the World Cross Country Championships in 1973 in Waregem on 19th place.

In 1974 she was fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay at the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch and reached the semi-finals over 800 meters . At the Cross Country World Championships in 1974 in Monza she took 39th place, 1975 in Rabat 42nd place, 1976 in Chepstow 54th place, 1977 in Düsseldorf 52nd place and 1978 in Glasgow 69th place.

At the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978 , she was twelfth over 1500 m.

In 1979 she ran 82nd at the Cross Country World Championships in Limerick and 88th place at the Cross Country World Championships in Paris .

She was four times Scottish champion over 1500 m (1969, 1970, 1977, 1979) and twice in cross country (1970, 1972).
