Sarah Margaret Qualley (born October 23, 1994 ) is an American actress , best known for her role in the television series The Leftovers .

life and career

Margaret Qualley is the third and youngest child of actress Andie MacDowell from her first marriage to Paul Qualley. She has an older brother and an older sister who were born in 1986 and 1989. She grew up on a ranch in Montana and later in Asheville , North Carolina . Originally Qualley wanted to become a dancer. At the age of 16 she spent her vacation at the American Ballet Theater in New York . She studied at the French Academy . During this time she changed her plan to become a dancer. She first gained acting experience at the age of 17 by spending her vacation at London's Royal Academy Of Dramatic Arts .

Before Margaret Qualley took on the role of Jill Garvey on the HBO series The Leftovers , she starred in a small role in the 2013 film Palo Alto . In 2016 she took on a role in the film The Nice Guys . A recourse to her dance training is the main role in the commercial Kenzo World , created and directed by Spike Jonze , 2016. In Hideo Kojima's computer game Death Stranding , she played the roles of Lockne and Mama. She played the role of Pussycat in Quentin Tarantino's tragic comedy Once Upon a Time in Hollywood . Margaret Qualley starred as Joanna Rakoff in Philipe Falardeau's 2020 film My Salinger Year, based on the novel of the same name by Joanna Rakoff. The film was shown as the opening film at the 70th Berlin Film Festival .
