Margit Symo

Margit Symo (born September 13, 1913 in Budapest , † October 6, 1992 in Munich ) was a Hungarian - Austrian actress and dancer .

Life

After some engagements as a dancer, Symo made her feature film debut as an actress in the production of Zigeunerblut in 1934 . In the following years she took part in numerous entertainment films, often using her dancing talent and occasionally her singing. She played next to Heinrich George in Der Postmeister , next to Hans Moser in Once the dear Lord be and next to Emil Jannings in Old Heart is Young Again . During this time she also took some records like "If you don't want" (Odeon 26553), "I'll put on my most beautiful dress" (# 26592), "My heart must always wander" (# 26585) and "For me could the world consists of all men ”(# 26553).

After the Second World War , Symo u. a. in the comedy I often think of Piroschka (based on the novel of the same name by Hugo Hartung ), the Hans Albers comedy The Great Bomberg and Rainer Werner Fassbinder's socially critical drama Angst Eats the Soul . Margit Symo went to Sweden after the war and was married to the composer Willy Mattes . Their daughter Eva Mattes also works as an actress.

It rests in the Munich North Cemetery .
