Margot Stevenson

Margot Stevenson (born February 8, 1912 in Manhattan , New York City as Margaret Helen Stevenson ; † January 2, 2011 there ) was an American actress .

Life

Stevenson was born on February 8, 1912, the daughter of Irish-born actor Charles Alexander Stevenson and his much younger second wife Frances Riley in Manhattan . She attended Brearley School, a private girls' school , in Manhattan. Even before entering the Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr ( Pennsylvania could visit) started the Great Depression . After that, she decided against going to college and pursuing a career as an actress.

Stevenson made his Broadway debut in 1932 in Firebird . Until 1976 she appeared there in 19 pieces. In 1938 she was on the radio with Orson Welles in 26 episodes of The Shadow series . Her career in film and television spanned only 17 titles, mostly B-films , and comprised several phases with long breaks.

Stevenson was married three times; after two divorces, she went into her third marriage in 1953 to the actor Val Avery . From this marriage daughter and actress Margot Avery emerged.
