Maria Pia Casilio

Maria Pia Casilio (born May 5, 1935 in Castelnuovo , † April 10, 2012 in Rome ) was an Italian actress .

Life

Casilio was one of Vittorio De Sica's many discoveries , who hired the pretty, small, brisk and slightly nasal actress for the employee of the pension where the lonely and tormented professor lives in Umberto D. The actress, who worked regularly until 1960, has further great successes with audiences, including two films by Mario Camerini and her best-known role as fiancée Alberto Sordis in An American in Rome .
